but I decided to cut it, and leave it here instead. Because even if I think it was relevant to what I was trying to say, I don’t think it belongs on that blog.

It’s been fun while it lasted

And just because I have been working on this entry in what seems forever, I have to mention something, – now this is usually something I’d talk about in my private blog. But today, I’ll make an exception.

Last new year I made the promise to myself, that I would block and unsub from all who were regurgitating the anti-ai agenda. I simply can’t deal with that negativity in my life, and I am all too aware that I can’t make people see sense when they refuse to.

And just to make this clear, I am not talking about rational criticism, or understandable concern about the evolution of AI, – I am all for that.

I am talking about those who just harp on individual creators, using the most ridiculous claims like ‘author caught using AI’, when all it was about, was this young indie author who sat on tiktok and talked about how making a private chatbot on character.ai helped her to flesh out her characters. This poor girls author career was over before it began, – and I find that very, very problematic, and unfair.

There is a difference between using something as Novel.ai that wil basically write your shit for you if you hit enter enough times and prompt it now and then. (I once made a entry in my personal blog, where I tried some different semi-automated AI writing sites, and how lame it was. If you want to read that, send me a message and I will link you. But I am not linking to my personal blog from this blog.) – and then using something like Grammarly or outwrite that can rearrange your already written sentence, fixing it so it makes sense and is correct.

I also think there is a fucking difference between using character.ai, which is basically just a chatbot, told to have a specific patter that will fit whatever you want, – be that uh.. Leon Kennedy, or your own character. You can’t just copy paste that gibberish, and just who the fuck would even DO that? come on, – that isn’t writing with AI, that is kicking back having fun with your own character, and if you can use that for lore or character development, – great!

I think that is hate mongering, it’s bullying and it’s primitive. And I won’t support that! – Now I used to watch iNabber, but today he had this video where he started out going on a rant about how terrible AI is, – and sure I don’t care, I mean I don’t necessarily disagree with every point he had. I’m sorry, but most of us are not drooling, gung-ho ai-bros, – seriously. It’s just what the internet want you to believe, when you tell them you don’t agree. it’s very black and white somehow, – there’s us and the enemy.

And if telling people to chill the fuck out, and not go after small indie creators on large platforms is uncool, – then i’m super uncool.

Anyway, iNabber ended out in this stupid shit where he nonchelantly had to throw in there, like 3 times, that people who use AI are ‘of course’, unoriginal, thieves, and those people of course can’t create anything.

What?

Come on, the video was about deep fakes. And you’d be hard pressed to find anyone, besides those fuckers who make deep fakes, – who think it’s even REMOTELY okay. AI is not illegal, – impersonating someone, – is. And it doesn’t matter what media you use to do it, you can’t either claim to be someone you’re not, – or present images or in this case video, – which isn’t real.

Everyone thinks that is deeply morally corrupt!

It doesn’t matter what your fucking stance on AI is, – I agree that AI is what makes it possible for any Joe and Jane to make a deep fake, which is very troubling, I agree wholeheartedly.

If he’d only stopped there, – but no. He had to harvest some cheap ‘crowd pleaser’ points by spending just as long, talking about how deplorable people who use AI (in general, he didn’t specify) is. And I’m not on with that, I’m just not.

I did write him a comment, and I quote: ‘dude, everyone hates deep fakes, but I fail to see why you find it necessary to join the choir of clout chasing youtubers struggling to stay relevant, – and throw every person who use generative ai in any capacity under the bus. It’s been great, but I’m gonna bow out here, good luck, don’t let the leopards eat your face.”

which I then had taken down for harassment, oh youtube, never change.

But my opinion stand, that was unnecessary, there was no reason for him to say that besides cheap internet points. It pisses me off, because it’s people like him who keep that very destructive narrative alive, – and in a roundabout way ‘normalise’ the general harassment of people who use generative AI, for whatever the fuck they do.

And let’s talk fucking originality, he for instance made a living out of talking smack about other people online, sitting on a chair with a camera. there is nothing new or profound about that formula, – is it original.. no man, it’s just not. He is basically a low effort reaction channel, trying to pretend he is talking about “important online topics”, and show pictures of his damn dog.

Dude, – Keemstar does a better job than you, and that is just facts. At least he has facial expressions! Okay I am hard on iNabber, I know. But there’s just something SO amazingly hypocritical about him dissing every user of any AI ever, – and then have the same set up and video formula as he did ten years ago. Maybe he got a new hat, I wish I was joking, but I am not. His video approach is a very tried and tripe structure, – and unless he hit it right, tapping into something super current, people don’t care.

It bothers the snot out of me, and that is why I am mentioning it flat out here. And it bothers me even more in the sense of ‘seeing the splinter in your brothers eye’.

Habibi, – shit ain’t original, and ergo creative and good, because you made it yourself with cow shit and gaffer tape.

I would claim, to be original and creative, – you gotta aim higher. You will attempt to make something you have not done before. And not just repeat whatever works for the algorithm, – there is a word for it, I’m not gonna repeat it.

I know I talked about it some other time, but I don’t remember if it was in this blog or not. But just how absolutely grotesque I find the cover-design world. I won’t get super into it here, it deserves it’s own rant. But, I swear if you search ‘ice hockey romance’, you will get like 30 books that all look alike. But somehow they are cool and original because someone used Canva assets, not AI. – fuck right off.

Lastly, the odd chance you like me, just really want to avoid the nonsense, – I do actually have my very own ‘naughty list’ of people to avoid, if you really can’t be bothered to listen to bullshit like that. (again, I mean people who will claim ‘everyone who use AI are baby killers’, type deal) – you might be surprised by just who is on that list, besides SamdoesArt (I really, really dislike him, like a whole fucking lot, and that is no secret… bro is beyond therapeutic reach, I swear)
