So I made a little experiment on my deviant art. I usually edit my graphics like A LOT! but I uploaded this one image that I didn’t touch besides color correcting. Left it to marinade in a months time – and would you look at that.

245 views, and 14 favs. This is what I’d considder ai slob, it’s directly off the algorithm (besides the minor edits I made, like size and color, making the gold pop). Also it’s just generic and boring.

Actually I don’t have the original anymore, I just went and looked for it to show you, but I deleted it off nightcafe, and apparently never bothered to upload it to my archive on discord either. hahaha that is how lame I think it is.

However it’s still one of the best performing images on Deviant art, of not the best.

And then you have things like this

This was uploaded earlier, but it has a decent amount of views, but only two favs. This is like 4 different images that I imposed and edited. It’s images from two different ai engines, and also my own vector layers.

Just to drive home my point.

Same thing, this is like 3 images, a vector layer and a silhouette ai image. It took me for fucking ever to get it right – and look at how it preformed.

This is what I mean…

When I spend ages editing, its largely ignored, but slam some slob up there, and wham! Do people in fact prefer the slob? See that is what I think, and if you look at the general ai stuff on deviant art, it IS truly slob most of it.

I mean it was just an experiment to prove a point, not that I will start just uploading images like the glitter girl, but I think it’s fair to assume, the reason for the amount of slob, is because it does much better in the algorithm, than your photomanip stuff.

You could argue that my photoedits isn’t for everyone, and sure they aren’t. But still I get enough traffic to confidently say, the slob is favored.

Think about that.

I mean the slob is probably liked by other ai creators, because of course it is. But still, what if we started to push back, I mean – many of us DOES use it for something, and don’t just upload ten ‘lookit it’s a puppy’ images.

Just like I think it’s the anti people’s responsibility to distance themselves from the psychos, I think it’s our responsibility to distance ourselves from the slob makers, the quick buck asshats with the ‘support my art’ tab, and 2000 images in their portfolio.
