Riddle me this; how come Vtubers (virtual vloggers) are okay, but a storytime with an ai made sprite is not?!
Okay so Vtubers sprites are set to track your cam, so it does what you do. So that is somehow creative?!
I don’t understand the weird ass gatekeeping. But It was not what I wanted to talk about. As I said in these entries.
As I talk about in both entries, I still remember how absolutely clever I felt when I managed to make a narrated illustrated short story video. And I remember I wondered why no one else did this – let’s just say I found out.
This is an actual answer someone gave me after I spent hours debating – I mean you just can’t shake them in their belief. And it is what it is – I mean this is the shit I get, and at least I don’t get death threats.
But it also means that all the work I made making narrations, making tutorials – wishing to help others to express themselves, feeling like I found the most clever way for people to express themselves and let their stories come to life. But I met nothing but shit like that above.
So even if I think like making the TTS narrations, It is TONS of work for a short video that no one will ever see, because I can’t upload them to surface youtube. I don’t know why I haven’t deleted them yet, but I just didn’t.
I went through my accounts and collected the stories I still have here on this blog.
I made this blog for this singular purpose, to hold my old TTS videos. It is fucking sad to look at , I mean I remember how each fucking video I was – but only three of them have ever been uploaded on surface youtube. That was Gothgolug, Fugazi and the Case of Wolf Rock. The others have been hidden away on blogs, on patreon (that doesn’t exist anymore), and weird canvas showcase websites.
Besides Wolf Rock, that I uploaded on Facebook because I was so super excited to show people what I made – and yeah I feel like I made that, even if anything everyone else apparently sees, is that an ai made it. Even talking about it makes me fucking depressed, and I feel like all my work is nothing worth because they only see I made the concept art with ai, and the voice is TTS.
None of the other videos have ever been seen by anyone but me, I mean as I said they have been uploaded to this blog, they have been uploaded to my patreon, because I once thought that this was what I’d do on Patreon, make TTS animated stop motion story videos.
Well it was a shit idea, and I don’t think anyone but me ever clicked on my patreon. This was why I cancelled it, I mean why should I do all that fucking work and pay for having a creators patreon – and I’m the only one using it.
No one cares about my TTS stories – and it is what it is – I mean I still do it sometimes because I think it’s fun to make the less ambitious videos. I’m not done setting up the blog, but I mean It’s not like I live in fear that anyone is going to click that link before I’m ready – come the fuck on.
And yeah everything is discontinued, so it is kind of a graveyard, so there’s that. But now it’s stored there, and it’s free – unlike Patreon.
And then there’s this
this blog has been repurposed over and over and over again, and right now I just have all my old tutorials up there – and also some new one. Because just like the TTS narration videos, I can’t really show these to anyone, I make them to help people, to get better at editing images and make their own narration videos and so forth.
But again, no one get to see them even if they wanted to, because I can’t have them on surface YT – learned that the hard way.
And the short promo videos that I left there too, I lost people I thought were online friends on those.
I think what makes me mad is that I really wish I could share this stuff somewhere where people could benefit from it, or perhaps like it. and if they don’t – dude that is fine. But as it is now, they don’t even get a chance.
I am going to make a very meta video about it, and I am not going to use any ai, see I used my “creativity” and downloaded a bunch of free Vtuber sprites – they look like shit, but they are not AI.
Check her out… She and I are going to make one banger of a video. And I am going to force you all to read – because I can’t use TTS.
