Had to link to a thread, because I couldn”t embed the sub. However this is very much what I wanted to talk about, because this sub is half people whining about not having subs, and the other half are humblebragging.
Now correct me if i’m wrong, this is why there is a YT sub reddit and this, ‘small YT’ sub – because there really is nothing more demotivating than hearing ‘small channel with only 100k subs’ – I have 180+ subs on my channel, and I am actually baffled that I have more than 5. But besides that, I looked at my followers, and most of them have like somewhere between 5 to 50 subs.
THIS IS THE REALITY OF YOUTUBE FOR MOST PEOPLE!
If you’re not a trend rider, it’s a stupid competitive environment.

These are the newest subs I have, look at this – come on.. this is reality. And what I see the most is shit like this.

‘The content I already do’ – omg… look at this, he has 4 videos and a stream – and his first video is 12 days old, and lasts under a minute – just what did he expect !?
It’s mad, all those kids who think they will be pewdiepie – tapping into whatever videos they once enjoyed, not realising that production value is much higher now, and also it’s a very oversaturated market those old trends like minecraft.
Anyways of course there is the age old ai debate too, and many new youtubers does use ai to get that extra umph, and ppl are not having it. But again like with writing and art – there is a spectrum of usage.

This for instance is just straight up dumb. Someone points out the new dub feature on YT sounds like AI, and the salty crowd jumps it in a very predictable way. The long comment there is me, pointing out that it is a tool of accessibility, and I was very, very close to accuse those fuckers of r/americandefaultism – like what did they think auto subtitles are?
Anyway, the point i made over and over in that subreddit, is anyone can make a viral video, but can you maintain those followers, that is a very different story.
