As I said in an earlier in this post

And I was right, making it werewolves instead, the plot flows like fucking an arterial bleeding. hahaha (okay that was lame).

Anyways, it works. But right now I am on a hunt for werewolf science, theory, stupid movies, folklore and whatever I can find – because I want to write scary damn werewolves, I don’t want to write YA kissy face werewolves.

I want to make something between a werewolf and a wendigo, yeah even if this story takes place in a nondescript place in the what one could assume to be for instance Wales. I don’t say where this takes place tho, but I mean – it’s pretty obvious it’s somewhere Britain.

So – we do have our own tales up north about what is basically a wendigo, but not. The Wendigo is a first nation explanation and cautionary tale to why it’s bad to eat people. But all old tribes/societies have their own version of that taboo. Here in Scandinavia it IS actually the werewolf, but then again we have a very different version of it, nothing with full moons – but a curse to live at night as a wolf, and at day like a person. It actually ties real well with an old story I started about the Valraven. Oh well, if I get him crammed in there, it’s cool, if not – well I don’t.

But I think I will use the term Bodach, not werewolf, and not wendigo. The Bodach is another word for ‘boogeyman’ and he had many different ‘faces’, both to scare kids from staying out in the dark, but also as a form of Krampus, stealing kids. My knowledge is pretty limited… and so I have a great excuse to educate myself on all of this, while I crochet Storm’s blanket (she asked for something to keep her legs warm when she sits at her computer). Because I want to make my own Bodach, not one completely removed from the original, but the reason i chose him/that, is because it’s such an ambiguous term that I can definitely play around with what it means in my story.

So I spent some time playing with a possible cover, Storm says it looks like a childrens book, I don’t. But then again, I know that Caleb talks about the black demon dogs on the moor several times in the story, so it made sense to me. Also dude, it took me two days to make this, I made everything piece by piece, and even if it’s ai, it’s stitched together with many ai images, layers and vectors.

The blurb is the old one, i just stuck something there for the mockup.

I am not sure it will keep this title, but I thought it fit, and also it wasn’t so close to Sons of Caina that it was dumb.

I do have this ‘work’ playlist, it might change from day to day – as I just add stuff on a whim to listen later. But it is what it is. =)
