So if i get stuck, or can’t quite get a character right – I have this trick that might work for you – might not. but I thought I’d pass it on, also it’s free. And we like free!

So you open either Word online, or Google docs – we all know I love google docs when I make outlines because it’s easier to move between platforms and accounts. Anyways I used docs for this.

I think you might have to activate side windows in your browser, but I am not sure. And you google Bing chat, and you open that fucker in a side window – that will look like this.

So then you chose ‘messages’ on the chat, and type in either your prompt, or issue you can’t resolve.

Then you can chose a tone in which the feedback is written, either click one of the premade ones, or click the plus to make your own. (i realise it’s confusing that my browser is in Danish, but just focus on what is in English)

Then you chose the format, the paragraph that I chose gives you a story type output, not sure about the mail and ideas, but the blog post will give you something in first person, which is great if you are writing a creepypasta or something similar in first person. Then chose the length, when you’re starting out, i’d chose medium, even if the long is chosen on this screenshot, but then again the screenshots are taken from several different story ideas.

Then his ‘create’ or whatever the button says in English, but the button straight under ‘length’ and the bot will make you some text.. Real quick then the circle with the cross makes it stop writing, the arrows back and forth is so you can go back to earlier text or forward if you went back. And the squares are copy, and the arrows around is reshuffle the text.

when it made your text, it will give you some questions, or options, you can click one of those, or you can click the plus to make a addition yourself. But if you’re happy with it, click ‘add to website’ and it will automatically add it to your doc.

sometimes however the bot is just trolling you, be aware of that.

And sometimes it will give you this message (or one like it) – it basically don’t like drugs, depression or heavy themes. (which is kinda funny cause it’s absolutely messed up sometimes, and writes about incest like it was nothing)… but then you remove a word like ‘cocaine’ or some other trigger word from your prompt, and it will write it out.

When you click the little plus under the rando generated questions or prompts – you can add something to the text, like it kept refering to MC as a human, and I had to correct the bot. but you can also write any other prompt, just like the rando ones, you can ask it to be more focused on one character, or you can change names, genders or ask ‘what happens next’ or ‘did MC fight back’ – or ‘what if Mia got a dog’ and it will accomodate this into the text.

You can also add feelings like ‘mia is angry’ and it will accomodate. It is however not intelligent, and will sometimes give you some absolute nonsense.

but I found that prompts that doesn’t directly correct the bot as ‘Mia is a woman’ if it refers to Mia as a dude or something like that. is;

What happened next?

Add a plot twist

Add a conflict

Make it more ‘X’ (sad, romantic, dark, scary)

Focus on ‘X’ (character, feeling)

How did ‘X’ react to ‘X’

What happened to ‘X’

Who is ‘X’ / Add a new character who is ‘X’ (add a new character to the prompt)

Change setting to ‘X’ (city, village, the court of the sun king)

How did X (how did x and x meet, how did x learn to, how did x make her fortune..)

Why is X (cured, fat, medicated, happy)

End story

And because you import it directly into docs, you can edit in the text given to fit your needs.

Lastly I have to say the worst thing is that it keeps giving you the entire text again and again – so at some point, take the last bit of text or what you want to explore, and paste it into the top prompt window and let it start over. You might have to tell it who is who again, so your secondary prompt might look pretty weird. but don’t worry about that. use short and precice sentences.
