So as some might know then I gave up on using patreon to display stuff – as I said in my earlier posts, I think paying more than a couple of cent/pence for a digital download is outrageous, and I still think that it should be free on principle. And as you know if you read my earlier post I was looking for somewhere to post members only, because even if I think it should be free, then I actually had a plan of sorts. hahaha and with that I mean for more than my AI art.

Turns out that you can sign up for the beta version of ‘free memberships’ on Patreon, and so I did that, and I also signed up for the beta version of a shop for digital downloads. And wham, patreon was not only relevant but the very thing I needed! I mean I DO pay something for Patreon membership, but that is ridicolously little and I use it quite a lot (just not for my own creations before now).

So in regards to that, I set up a free membership page on patreon you can find that here. https://www.patreon.com/darkstarsnightshade And I seriously hope it works as I want it to – but I honestly don’t know, so should you feel tempted to try signing up then please let me know if it actually asks for money for you to be a member, it shouldn’t, but I think their system is super confusing.

Anyways how this will work is that I will sort out the latest uploads in the free graphics blog and take down the retired and rejected items and place them on patreon. They will still be free but for members only. And for the future this the place they will be posted. The ones I take from the free blog will be smaller than the current and future uploads, but there are limits to how much time I am arsed to spend on it.

There is a shop on my patreon as well, and the lowest asking price is €3 so when/if I upload any AI art on that shop, it will be several of the prints that are available on Redbubble as I make the post. Of course you can experience in the future that some of the prints in the download is also available as members only free, but yeah just wait a little and the rest in the bundle will be free too. I purge my redbubble once in a while. For now I am not going to use the shop, but when I do I will of course announce it.

And when I said I had plans besides AI art on patreon, then I mean the singular crochet pattern that I am thinking I am going to charge for, and some stories too going forth. Because you can upload different sorts of files to the store as long as it’s digital. So that store can be used for a lot of things, and I don’t think it is behind a members only wall, fucked if I know really, I mean their explanations are super weird and the translations of it is clearly done with google translate so I can’t even try in Danish.

So there you have it. The members only stuff will be there, free of charge, unless it’s in the shop.

Also Patreon won’t let me set up shit without a paid tier, so there is one, but as I wrote in it’s description – it won’t give you perks, and you’d just be giving me money for free.. which you are of course allowed to, but I hardly think you want to.

Lastly, I don’t really mind if there are anyone who subs to the patreon, honestly I don’t expect anyone to subscribe, just as I don’t expect anyone to actually read all this shit I write here on this blog. Don’t lie man, I can see the statistics yanno, and I have ZERO engagement on pretty much all I do, exept youtube – and to be honest that is pretty pathetic too hahaha I mean if you look at how much work I put into it, how much money I spend on doing it, and how many years I have been at it… Then you could pretty much say I fail at all parameters. I am used to being terrible at things, and as I said earlier I honestly don’t think I am that terrible at any of it, I think I might just vibe with a SUPER narrow demographic, and that I drown in the algorithms cause I am however very very bad at promoting myself right.

Fuck it, here it is – sub or don’t.

regardless I will have a catalogue of stuff which quite selfishly is also something that I wanted.
